Josh Cooke’s New Role is Joel on Hart of Dixie
Josh Cooke will play Joel a new recurring character on Hart of Dixie in season 3. Which premieres Monday, October 7, 2013 at 8pm Central on The CW. His first appearance will be in the season premiere.
Cooke’s character is a quintessential New York artist, that passes through the charming southern town of Bluebell. With hopes of finding some inspiration for his latest book but is soon captivated by its charm. And finds that he may not want to leave.
Joshua Gregory Cooke was born on November 22, 1979 in Philadelphia, PA. He attended Harriton High School in Rosemont, a small suburb of Philadelphia. While in high school, he was a member of Harriton Theater Company and directed a show his senior year. He received the James Pendleton Foundation Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Performance and the Judith & Milton R. Stark Scholarship.
Cooke majored in theater at the University of California, Los Angeles. He also studied his craft at Playhouse West (Los Angeles) and UCLA with such renowned coaches as Ann Reinking, Lesly Kahn and Gregory Hines.
In April of 2o11 Josh married his girlfriend singer and songwriter Eleisha Eagle.
In 2005 Josh played the lead role as Nate Solomon in NBC’s sitcom Committed. And has made guest appearances on Without a Trace, Century City, Once and Again, 10-8 and Dragnet. He starred in NBC’s comedy Four Kings and the ABC sitcom Big day in 2006, which both were not picked up for another season. And has appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm.
He played Leo Carpenter in the Joss Whedon show Dollhouse in 2009 and that same year played Dan Stonewater on the final episode of Scrubs. In 2010 he had the role of Ben Coles on Better With You but the show was cancelled after 22 episodes. He has also made appearances on the Showtime series Dexter, as Louise Green.
Josh co-starred in the film Wasted in 2006 as Dixon. And in the Christina Milian’s TV movie Snowglobe as Eddie that same year. He starred alongside Hart of Dixie‘s Jaime King in the film A Fork in the Road. And had a small role as Alan in the film I Love You, Man.
Cooke was one of the lead roles in Quarantine 2 as Henry. He starred as Andy in the comedy Group Sex in 2010. And played the lead role as Ron in the 2008 film Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation
